Couples Counselling

Our Approach

Relationship therapy is different from individual therapy, as our focus is on supporting the well-being and growth of your relationship as a whole. Together, we will explore solutions, build on both your individual and shared strengths, and consider how factors such as family background, life experiences, and cultural influences may be shaping your relationship dynamics.

My role is not to provide all the answers or "fix" problems for you. Instead, I create a supportive space where you can better understand one another, strengthen communication, and develop the tools needed to navigate challenges together. The aim is to help you feel more connected, aligned, and confident in moving forward as a team.

The process typically begins with an initial session attended by both partners, followed by individual sessions with each person. These sessions help me understand your unique perspectives, relationship patterns, and hopes for the future. From there, we work together to create meaningful and lasting change.

A significant part of relationship therapy focuses on communication—exploring what was said, what was heard, and what was intended. To support progress between sessions, I often suggest practical exercises or activities to work on at home. Most couples engage in a programme of approximately 9–12 sessions, although this can be tailored to your specific needs.

Relationship therapy can be beneficial for couples at many different stages of life. It is suitable for those who are building a future together and want to establish strong communication foundations, as well as couples navigating significant life transitions such as starting or expanding a family, relocating, career changes, retirement, or other major adjustments.

The goal is to help you develop a stronger understanding of one another, deepen your connection, and build a relationship that feels fulfilling and resilient through life's changes.
