Gestalt counselling space in Basingstoke for ADHD and autism support
Michelle, Gestalt therapist supporting neurodivergent clients in Basingstoke

I'm Michelle, a qualified Gestalt therapist offering face-to-face counselling in Basingstoke and online counselling across the UK. I specialise in supporting people with anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, self-esteem, relationships and neurodiversity.

I'm particularly interested in neurodiversity and in supporting people who may have spent a long time feeling that they need to adapt themselves to fit in.

My approach is collaborative. I'll listen, ask questions and help you explore what's going on, while respecting that you are the expert in your own experience.

£55 per 50-minute session.

Counselling in Basingstoke

A safe, supportive space to make sense of what you're going through

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. You might be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationships, burnout, difficult emotions or simply feeling like you're not quite coping the way you'd like to.

You don't have to have everything figured out before starting counselling.

You don't need to be "good" at therapy.

You just need to be willing to start a conversation.

You don't have to work it all out on your own

Perhaps you've been managing for a long time, but things have started to feel harder.

You might find yourself:

  • Feeling anxious, overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted

  • Struggling with confidence or self-esteem

  • Finding relationships or boundaries difficult

  • Experiencing stress or burnout

  • Feeling stuck or unsure about what you want

  • Going through a significant change or difficult period in your life

  • Trying to understand emotions that feel difficult to manage

  • Feeling different from the people around you

  • Exploring or adjusting to a diagnosis of ADHD or autism

  • Experiencing the effects of masking, overwhelm or feeling like you don't quite fit in

Whatever has brought you here, counselling can give you the time and space to slow things down, understand yourself more deeply and explore what you need.

Counselling that starts with you

There isn't a one size fits all approach to therapy.

As a Gestalt therapist, I believe that the relationship we build together is an important part of the therapeutic process. I'll work collaboratively with you, rather than telling you what you should do or trying to fit you into a particular box.

You don't need to know exactly what you want to talk about.

You don't need to know why you're struggling.

And you don't need to arrive with a solution.

We can start wherever you are.

My aim is to provide a space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement, while gently exploring the thoughts, feelings, patterns and experiences that may be affecting you.

Neurodiversity-affirming counselling

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent people, including those who are autistic or have ADHD.

You may be newly diagnosed, wondering whether you may be neurodivergent, or simply trying to understand yourself better.

Perhaps you've spent years masking, adapting yourself to fit in or feeling that other people seem to find life easier than you do.

Counselling can provide a space to explore your experiences without judgement and without expecting you to change who you are.

I take a neurodiversity-affirming approach and aim to understand you as an individual, rather than making assumptions based on a diagnosis or label.

What can we work on?

I work with a range of difficulties and life experiences, including:

Anxiety & overwhelm

Explore what's driving your anxiety and develop a better understanding of what you need when life feels too much.

Stress & burnout

A space to step back, understand what has brought you to this point and consider what needs to change.

Self-esteem & confidence

Explore the beliefs and experiences that have shaped how you see yourself.

Relationships & boundaries

Understand patterns in your relationships and explore healthier ways of communicating and setting boundaries.

Neurodiversity

Support around ADHD, autism, late diagnosis, masking, identity and the challenges of navigating a world that may not always feel designed for you.

Life changes

Support through transitions, loss, uncertainty and periods when life doesn't feel quite as it used to.
